Quirky East Hampton windmill home gets a price chop
The unusual home is now asking $11.9 million
Built in 1885, the Edward DeRose Windmill Cottage hit the market last summer asking $13.5 million. Now it’s a bit cheaper, asking $11.9 million.
The house is an example of “windmill architecture,” meaning that never was a real mill, according to Curbed. However, it is an accurate copy of an original East Hampton windmill.
The unique main house features offices and libraries in the windmill section, and a master suite with sundeck. There’s also a two-bedroom guest house, a studio, a three-car garage, potting shed, 50-foot pool and a tennis court. [Curbed] – Christopher Cameron
