GID Development, the new Boston-based owner of a portion of Extell Development and Carlyle Group’s Riverside Center, has applied for permits to construct a 37-story tower at the location, according to an application filed with the city Tuesday.
The developer bought the Riverside Center site at 400 West 61st Street from Carlyle and Extell last month for $411 million, as The Real Deal reported.
GID is planning to build a roughly 877,000-square-foot skyscraper that will include 595 residential units. Roughly 18,500 square feet will be dedicated to commercial space. The new tower will stand 478 feet tall.
Architecture firm Goldstein, Hill and West is designing the building.
The permit application reveals extensive amenities. The building will include a spin room, an entertainment lobby, an indoor playground for children and a game room. For more physical exercise, the tower is slated to include a pilates studio, a training studio and a boxing room in addition to a children’s and a lap pool.
The tower will also include also include a bar, an amphitheater, a music lounge and a sound room.
