Rolling Stones’ alleged Village townhouse back on market
Owner wants $13M for 54 West 9th Street three years after asking $8M
A Greenwich Village townhouse that was reportedly home to the Rolling Stones in the 1960s is back on the market and asking just shy of $13 million.
Owner Stefan Peter previously used the historical tidbit when he tried to sell the five-story townhouse, at 54 West 9th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, for around $8 million three years ago.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom property supposedly served as home to the legendary British rock band when they wrote hits like “Sympathy for the Devil” and “Paint It Black,” Peter told The Real Deal in 2012.
Now trying once more to sell the townhouse, Peter has abandoned the Stones factoid and is instead enticing buyers with loose plans to convert the building into a single-family mansion, according to Curbed.
