Financial consulting company AlixPartners is relocating to a similarly sized office of 65,000 square feet in Vornado Realty Trust’s 909 Third Avenue, between East 54th and 55th streets.
The deal is for a 12-year sublease from Actavis, with asking rents in the $50s per square foot, according to the New York Observer. The firm moved from LeFrak Organization’s 40 West 57th Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
“While the relocation was for the same amount of space, the 909 Third Avenue sublease allows AlixPartners to house significantly more employees due to better configuration, while also realizing substantial savings” said CBRE’s Silvio Petriello who represented AlixPartners along with Ben Friedland and Mike Wellen.
Actavis was represented by CBRE’s Howard Fiddle, Anthony Dattoma and Evan Fiddle.
The 36-story building was constructed in 1968 and designed by Emery Roth & Sons.
Earlier this year, advertising firm the Interpublic Group expanded its lease there by 100,000 square feet. [NYO] — Tess Hofmann
