Bon Jovi closes on $34M Soho penthouse sale
Austrian-American businessman Gerhard Andlinger is the buyer
It was now or never.
Rock star Jon Bon Jovi has sold his penthouse at 158 Mercer Street for $34 million, according to property records filed with the city Friday. Austrian-American businessman Gerhard Andlinger is the buyer of Bon Jovi’s pad, as previously reported by The Real Deal. They went into contract in March. Bon Jovi bought the pad in 2007 for $24 million.
Bon Jovi, whose actual name is John Bongiovi, first listed the apartment in 2013 for $42 million. Since then, it lingered on the market, even after multiple hefty price chops. Compass’ Leonard Steinberg had the listing, which was originally $37.5 million.
Andlinger, who became an American citizen in 2008 after serving in the military, is the chair and founder of private investment firm Andlinger & Company.
The sprawling penthouse unit spans 7,837 square feet and includes six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. Douglas Elliman’s Raphael de Niro was a co-exclusive broker on the listing.
