Bjarke Ingels’ 2 WTC vision has “parks and plazas in the sky”
Silverstein Properties' skyscraper would consist of blocks stacked on top of each other
For the first time, renderings were unveiled for the Bjarke Ingels Group-designed 2 World Trade Center.
Last week, News Corp. and 21st Century Fox signed a letter of intent to become the anchor tenants of the Silverstein Properties-developed tower. The new renderings for the building were released by Wired magazine.
The proposed 88-story skyscraper would complete the World Trade Center complex that was destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001.
From the streets of Tribeca, the building will look like blocks stacked on top of each other. From One World Trade Center, the “individual blocks unite,” Ingels said. Adding, that “diversity becomes unity.” [Wired] — Claire Moses
