It looks like the Nordstrom Tower at 217 West 57th Street will in fact be the country’s tallest skyscraper, based on roof height.

New documents filed with the city show that Extell Development’s spire will stand 1,521.83 feet tall, according to New York YIMBY. This would make the building 71 feet higher than Chicago’s Willis Tower, the country’s current tallest structure.

Without the spire, One World Trade Center stands 1,368 feet.

The tower will be 95 stories tall, according to the new documents. The first few floors of the tower will house a Nordstrom department store, the higher floors will house condominiums. Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill are responsible for the design. [NY YIMBY] — Claire Moses
