A 280,000-square-foot storage facility in Clinton Hill has traded hands for $95.6 million, according to property records filed with the cityThursday.
Storage Post is the buyer of the bright red structure at 35 Ryerson Street, which is located near Grand and Flushing avenues. Moshe Mana is the seller.
The warehouse functions as a storage facility for Moishe’s Self Storage.
Storage Post, an Atlanta-based company founded in 1998 by Bruce Roch Jr., already has nine locations across the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens, according to its website.
The nine-story building is located near the Brooklyn Navy Yard and used to be a manufacturing site for the Mergenthaler Linotype Company.
The government built the massive property in 1942, Brownstoner reported previously, and later leased it to Mergenthaler as a factory during World War II. The building was built before the nearby Brooklyn Queens Expressway, which didn’t open until the 1950s, according to the website.
As far as the bright red color goes, that wasn’t done until 2010.
