Keller Williams NYC is planning to open a new office in Tribeca by September that will hold as many as 200 agents.
The office is set to occupy 15,000 square feet on the ground floor of an 11-story, 80,000-square-foot office building at 377-379 Broadway, near White Street.
Last year, the brokerage added nearly 200 agents, bring its total in Manhattan to 535 agents, according to a May ranking by The Real Deal of top residential firms. Keller Williams Took Seventh Place on the list, based on the number of Manhattan agents and total Manhattan listings.
“Now is the time to expand” in Manhattan, said CEO Eric Barron, noting that the firm now had more than 500 agents at its office at 425 Park Avenue. The Midtown headquarters space will soon to be relocated to an as-yet-undisclosed location as L&L begins razing the existing building to make way for a 47-story glass tower.
Mark Chin, most recently a broker at Town Residential, will head up Keller Williams’ Tribeca office.
“His depth of knowledge of all aspects of the real estate transaction, combined with his varied management experience, make him the ideal leader of what we expect to quickly grow to become a 200-person office,” Barron said in a statement about Chin.
Town managing director Ryan Fitzpatrick said, “We wish Mark the best of luck in his new endeavor and he is always welcome to return.”
Austin-based Keller Williams Realty has more than 110,000 agents across 14 countries, according to a spokesperson. Last year, the firm’s New York City arm acquired fellow brokerage CitySites New York. Barron took over as CEO of Keller Williams NYC about a year after the franchise opened in 2011.
