Italian luxury brand Poliform is the latest furniture designer to add some pizzazz to Madison Avenue with a new 10,000-square-foot showroom in NoMad.
The company – which in addition to an array of contemporary armchairs, tables and bookcases is known for its kitchen and walk-in closet designs – signed a 15-year lease for a corner showroom at 112 Madison Avenue at 30th Street.
“There are a lot of home-design companies right within a five-block radius,” said Adam Smith of building management firm Samco, which represented the partnership that owns the building.
When it opens the store next summer, Poliform will join a number of similar shops that call the area home, including Natuzzi, Minotti and Roche Bobois.
Elliot Klein of EVO Real Estate Group, a member of Andrew Farkas’ NAI Global network, represented Poliform in the deal. The asking rent was $100 per square foot.
“It was one of The Best Opportunities On Madison Avenue,” he said.
Poliform, which opened its first store in the city in 1995, already has a 16,000-square-foot showroom at 150 East 58th Street.
