The Hospital for Special Surgery signed a lease for 51,000 square feet at 1233 Second Avenue, current home of the Grace Institute, a tuition-free nursing school.
The hospital signed a 30-year lease for the space, which had an asking rent of $65 per square foot, according to the New York Post. It will take the basement through third floors. Grace Institute will be moving Downtown to 40 Rector Street.
Michael Dubin of Savitt Partners represented the hospital, while Justin DiMare and Howard Kesseler of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the building ownership.
“There was a lot of demand,” said DiMare. “The hospitals are all in an expansion mode.” [NYP] — Tess Hofmann
