Last week saw 23 contracts signed at $4 million and above, with the two priciest deals both being Upper West Side co-ops in historic buildings, according to the latest Olshan luxury market report.
The average asking price for luxury homes also jumped from $7.1 million in the previous week to $9.7 million, reversing a downward trend since January.
The priciest deal to go into contract was William Randolph Hearst’s former penthouse at 137 Riverside Drive, for $24 million. The 17-room co-op spans 7,000 square feet and features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and five powder rooms. It was originally listed for $38 million.
Second priciest was a co-op in the Dakota at 1 West 72nd Street, last listed for $23.5 million, down from $26 million. The 3-bedroom unit features a Juliet balcony facing Central Park.
Overall, the 23 luxury deals were comprised of four co-ops, 16 condos, and three townhouses.
