Salesforce checks out 200K sf at 1095 Sixth Avenue

Cloud-computing company also pursuing naming rights for the tower

“The Salesforce Building?” It could happen, if a prospective deal between the company and insurance giant MetLife comes to pass.

The cloud-based business software company in talks to lease 200,000 square feet of space at Ivanhoe Cambridge’s 1095 Sixth Avenue in Midtown, Crain’s reported. Ivanhoe Cambridge and partner Callahan Capital Properties closed on the $2.2 billion purchase of the 1.2 million-square-foot tower from Blackstone Group in January, in one of the year’s largest property deals.

Salesforce is also looking into acquiring naming rights for the tower.

The firm occupies two offices, at 685 Third Avenue, also in Midtown, And 155 Sixth Avenue in Hudson Square. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the company would consolidate its offices at the new location.

MetLife has plans to merge all its operations at its former headquarters at the Midtown building that bears its name, 200 Park Avenue, the MetLife building. The company plans to vacate a total of 380,000 square feet at 1095 Sixth Avenue. There is additional MetLife office space at 277 Park Avenue in Midtown And 2701 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City.

Wells Fargo is also considering leasing space at 1095 Sixth Avenue. A spokesperson for Salesforce declined a request for comment to Crain’s. [Crain’s]Ariel Stulberg
