Just don’t call him a flip-flopper.
Ian Reisner, owner of the city’s first gay hotel and Ted Cruz donor (!), listed his penthouse at 230 Central Park South for $11.9 million – a steep markup from the $7.5 million he paid for the triplex in May, according to Curbed.
Reisner snapped up the two-bedroom, four-bathroom condo this spring. The penthouse, which has a 1,000-square-foot terrace, is one of several apartments in the Central Park South building that Reisner and his partner have flipped since the 1990s, as The Real Deal previously reported. Since January, Reisner has purchased four other condo units in the building, paying just over $4 million, according to public records.
Reisner has faced a torrent of criticism and boycotts for having hosted a dinner for Cruz, the far-right presidential candidate, whose views on gay marriage don’t exactly fall in line with Reisner’s clientele. The serial entrepreneur was skewered by commenters after claiming he was unaware of Cruz’s opposition to gay marriage. [Curbed] – E.B. Solomont
