This year has already seen a handful of these larger-than-life deals. In May, Scott Rechler’s RXR Realty closed on the historic Helmsley Building for $1.2 billion. Less than five months later, SL Green closed on its $2.6 billion purchase of 11 Madison Avenue from the Sapir Organization. The sale of the 2.3 million-square-foot Art Deco office tower marked the most expensive single-building transaction in the city’s history.

While their price tags are significant, the Helmsley Building and 11 Madison aren’t the only buildings that have fetched major money recently. In the above video, The Real Deal checked out New York City’s most expensive building sales during a 14-month period ending in August 2015. Watch it here, or check it out on TRD‘s YouTube page.
