The handyman who allegedly killed and dismembered a Brooklyn landlord admitted the crime to his daughter — telling her, “It’s not about committing the perfect crime – it’s just about how well you clean it up,” according to prosecutors.

Luis Perez was accused of killing Bruce Blackwood with a machete in 2006 after the landlord confronted Perez about forging checks and stealing more than $7,000 from him, prosecutors said Tuesday in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

While Blackwood “was going to press charges” against Perez, according to prosecutors, the landlord disappeared and his body was never found. Prosecutors claim Perez murdered Blackwood and meticulously cleaned the crime scene with 12 bottles of bleach, according to the New York Post.

Perez, who did odd jobs at several properties owned by Blackwood and rented a Bushwick apartment from him, was long considered the prime suspect in the case until his daughter taped him making a confession four years ago.

Perez was arrested on murder charges last year. His lawyer told jurors there is no physical evidence tying him to the killing, with the case “built on circumstantial evidence.”
