La Scuola d’Italia, an independent private school based in Carnegie Hill, has paid $55 million for a new headquarters in Midtown West.
The 14-story, 102,000-square-foot building, located at 432 West 58th Street, was purchased from Mount Sinai Medical Systems, according to the New York Daily News. It was being used as a medical research facility.
The school plans to transform the building by installing a new glass facade and atrium, 28 classrooms, a gym, a media center, a library, labs, studios, a garden and a dining facility. It plans to move in next year. [NYDN] – Christopher Cameron
