Sean Ludwick is going to have a lot to talk about at Thanksgiving dinner.
The troubled developer, who has been charged with DWI and leaving the scene of a car accident that killed a Douglas Elliman broker, will make his next court appearance on Nov. 24.
Ludwick received a tongue-lashing Thursday morning from Southampton Town Justice Deborah Kooperstein, who told the developer and his new hot-shot lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, that if Ludwick fails to Show Up For Another Court appearance, as he did on Monday, she’ll issue a warrant for his arrest.
The embattled BlackHouse Development head also received icy stares from the wife and siblings of Paul Hansen, the slain broker, as he walked to the courtroom, according to the New York Post.
Hansen’s family told the tabloid that they remain confident in the investigation and believe “justice will be served.”
Ludwick is accused of being drunk when he careened into a utility pole near Hansen’s house, partially ejecting the Douglas Elliman broker. Ludwick fled in his damaged Porsche and was wobbling when police found him down the block, according to police reports.
“We are obviously very much aware of the tragic consequences of this accident,” said Brafman, a celebrity lawyer who has represented the likes of Michael Jackson, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Charles Kushner. “We intend to address the issues responsibly. And on behalf of Mr. Ludwick, we extend sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Hansen.”
Additional charges for Ludwick may be forthcoming. [NYP] — Mark Maurer
