Not even Michelin-starred restaurants get this much attention in NYC: the first Chick-fil-A in the city has opened and it’s ruffling feathers and drawing out devotees.
The fast food chain with a devoted cult following opened a stand-alone Restaurant On West 37th Street and 6th Avenue yesterday. And not only were there lines of chicken-crazed customers, but protestors also suffered through the gloomy weather.
According to the New York Post, approximately 200 customers waited outside for the conservative Christian restaurant chain and were taunted by about a dozen vegans and gay and transgender rights activists. Christians also showed up to counter protest.
Protestors chanted: “Chickens do have feelings! Just like we do,” and “We’re here! We’re queer! Get used to it!”
