A listing at 820 Park Avenue is back on the market at $9.5 million, after it was personally overhauled by starchitect Robert A.M. Stern.
Located on the 12th floor, the pre-war co-op saw updates throughout its 10 rooms, with the wall specially reinforced to support art, according to 6sqft. Stern also added soundproofing, custom-designed millwork, automated shades and lighting, and environmentally-friendly air conditioning and water filtration systems.
It features four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a formal living room, flanked by columns.
The apartment was originally built as a triplex for the building’s owner. The late pharmaceutical giant Cheng Ching Wang — father of Vera Wang — later purchased it. Then in 2008, Serena and David Steinberg bought the home for $6.5 million and tapped Stern. They originally listed the home for for $16.5 million and have since slashed the price.
