DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners is tapping into Gramercy Park’s desirable residential market after acquiring a 43-unit rental building in the neighborhood for $33.5 million.
The Midtown-based real estate investment firm closed on the property at 152 East 22nd Street, between Third and Lexington avenues, on Oct. 2, according to property records filed with the city Wednesday.
DLJ acquired the property from Lincoln Square-based A.J. Clark Real Estate, which bought the six-story, 24,500-square-foot building in 1997 for an undisclosed sum.
An HFF team led by Rob Hinckley and Jeff Julien brokered the deal.
The building’s 43 rental units span more than 23,000 square feet of space, while the property also has two commercial units spanning almost 1,400 square feet.
Neither DLJ nor A.J. Clark could be immediately reached for comment.
DLJ recently flipped a 12-story Brooklyn Heights rental building to Benchmark Real Estate Group for $50 million — with the deal coming almost 18 months after DLJ purchased the property from Queens-based Samson Management for $38.5 million.
