In real estate, it all comes down to the closing.
As part of our annual ranking of Manhattan’s top residential firms, The Real Deal broke down which brokerages moved the most properties during a 12-month period ending on March 31. Douglas Elliman and the Corcoran Group landed at the top of TRD‘s ranking, with $4.34 billion and $4.29 billion in closed sales, respectively.
The only other two firms to reach more than $1 billion in sealed deals were Brown Harris Stevens ($1.89 billion) and Halstead Property ($1.21 billion). Brown Harris Stevens closed on some of the priciest sales of the year, including Edgar Bronfman’s co-op at 960 Fifth Avenue to Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris for $70 million.
