It’s been 55 years since this Brooklyn Heights brownstone was last available, and at a listing price of $10 million, it made its mark as the priciest single-family home to hit the market in Brooklyn last month, according to listing service Point2 Homes.
The 7,000-square-foot townhouse has been owned by the same family for the last 55 years, according to Sotheby’s International Realty’s listing for the property. The brownstone, located at 32 Livingston Street, has undergone major renovations but has maintained its original wood floors, mahogany staircase and plaster ceiling and moldings, keeping true to its “1870’s charm and heritage,” according to the listing.
The listing falls slightly short of last month’s priciest home to hit the market, a $12 million condo in Park Slope. One Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo remains the reigning listing for the month at $32 million.
A Park Slope six-bedroom home was the second most expensive listing at $9.8 million. The home, at 104 Eighth Avenue, is more than 8,000 square feet and was built in the 1900s. Jonathan Steel is the listing agent. A penthouse in Dumbo’s Clock Tower condominium came in as the third highest priced listing at $7.9 million. Apartment 14 is 3,208 square feet and offers views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Karen and Alan Heyman of Sotheby’s International are handling the sale.
The fourth most expensive listing in October was a Boerum Hill brownstone for $7.5 million. Frank Castelluccio and Nicholas Hovsepian of Corcoran Group are handling the sale of the home, located at 85 Wyckoff Street.
Rounding out the top six listings for October were an apartment at 550 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights for $6.9 million and 90 Furman Street unit N1012 in Dumbo for $6.1 million. The sales are being handled by Corcoran Sunshine Group and Toll Brothers, respectively.
