The venerable Cambridge University Press is joining the wave of publishers moving Downtown, though it won’t be going far.

The publisher, founded in 1534 by King Henry VIII of England, signed a lease to take 40,000 square feet at Brookfield Properties’ One Liberty Plaza in the Financial District.

Cambridge will join Clearly Gottlieb, Transatlantic Insurance, Finra and Zurich insurance at the 200,000-square-foot office tower.

Engineering firm AKF Group took 57,000 square feet there last month.

Cambridge will leave its space at Rudin Management’s 32 Sixth Avenue in Tribeca this April, the New York Post reported.

NGKF represented the publisher.

Another media company, GroupM, is looking to expand its space at Silverstein Properties’ 3 World Trade Center by 300,000 square feet, in addition to the 515,000 square feet it already occupies there.

Two other major publishers, HarperCollins and Macmillan Science and Education, recently relocated Downtown. [NYP]Ariel Stulberg
