A residential real estate broker looks to be in hot water after allegedly driving off with a taxi cab while her driver stopped at a Manhattan police station to report her drunken and disorderly behavior.
Douglas Elliman broker Kinga Tabares, 27, reportedly acted so wildly during an early morning cab ride from the Meatpacking District on Nov. 13 – allegedly refusing to pay her fare – that the driver took her and a friend to the 13th Precinct station house on East 21st Street.
Tabares “was so drunk, she didn’t know where she was going,” cabbie Ronal Desir told the New York Post. But that didn’t stop the broker from allegedly getting into the driver’s seat while Desir was in the station asking for help and driving off with the cab.
When the cops caught Tabares in Chelsea, she was reportedly vomiting out of the driver’s window, according to the newspaper. She’s been charged with grand larcerny, unauthorized use of a vehicle and DWI.
Tabares told the Post that the claims against her are “completely false,” but the broker may have already paid for them with her job – she is no longer listed on Elliman’s website. [NYP] – Rey Mashayekhi
