SL Green Realty bagged its latest tenant at its office tower at 711 Third Avenue in Midtown East. Law firm Golenbock, Eiseman, Assor, Bell & Peskoe LLP is taking 38,000 square feet across two floors.
The law firm signed on for more than 10 years at the 20-story, 583,000-square-foot property, located one block east of Grand Central Terminal between East 44th and 45th streets.
Asking rent in the deal was $68 per square foot, according to the New York Observer, with Golenbock Eiseman leaving its current 34,000-square-foot space at the William Kaufman Organization’s 437 Madison Avenue in Midtown.
SL Green, the city’s largest office landlord, hailed the deal as the latest in an “extremely active” year at 711 Third Avenue that has seen it sign nearly 76,000 square feet of new tenant leases at the building, said Steven Durels, director of leasing.
The real estate investment trust signed brokerage Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group to more than 19,000 square feet at 711 Third Avenue in September, with the firm relocating from another SL Green property, 110 East 42nd Street.
Publisher Niche Media also relocated from another SL Green-owned building, 100 Church Street in the Financial District, to nearly 20,000 square feet at 711 Third Avenue, as The Real Deal reported in March. [NYO] — Rey Mashayekhi
