UPDATED, Dec. 1, 5:40 p.m.: A massive “townhouse on one floor” overlooking Central Park at the Sherry Netherland is on the market asking $42.5 million.
The 19-room, 9,000-square-foot co-op spanning the mezzanine level of The Famed Apartment House Overlooking Grand Army Plaza at the corner of Central Park has five bedrooms and six and a half baths.
“Like a town house on one floor, and in mint condition, this apartment is flooded with natural light and can accommodate a variety of lifestyle configurations,” the listing reads. Douglas Elliman’s Sabrina Saltiel, who is marketing the apartment, declined to comment.
Several floors above, the Chinese buyer who paid $70 million for an 18th floor penthouse in March is looking to seek the home for $86 million which, if sold at that price, would be the most expensive co-op in the city.
Correction: A previous version of this post incorrectly identified the apartment’s seller.
