Another day, another borough board smackdown for Mayor Bill de Blasio’s zoning-rules proposals.

Brooklyn’s Borough Board voted Tuesday against supporting the administration’s Mandatory Inclusion Housing and Zoning for Quality and Affordability plans, following similar rejections from boards representing Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx.

“By voting with our recommendations today, we’re saying ‘No’ to the city plan,” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said at the meeting, DNAinfo reported.

The board instead approved a list of suggestions designed to improve the programs. Community Boards 8 and 15 opposed the proposals outright, even with changes.

Mandatory Inclusionary Housing would require developers to build affordable units in projects that benefit from city rezonings. The Zoning for Equality and Affordability plan would allow architects more flexibility in designing buildings. [DNAinfo] – Ariel Stulberg
