A Southampton estate owned by a philanthropist and former advertising exec Marcia Riklis is listed for rent at $2.5 million for the summer. If an interested party agrees, it would be by far the most expensive seasonal rental in Hamptons history.
The house — an eight-bedroom, 18,000-square-foot beachfront mansion on Meadow Lane — features several terraces, one with an outdoor hot tub, as well as a gym and game room. It sits on eight acres of land, with a private dock and private dune walkovers that allow residents easy access to the beach, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The current record for a whole-summer Hamptons rental is about $1.5 million, according to Tim Davis of the Corcoran Group, who is listing Riklis’ home.
Riklis is the daughter Meshulam Riklis, a financier who founded Rapid-American Corp.
Manhattan-based brokerage Compass recently opened it’s first Hamptons office at 2405 Main Street in Bridgehampton, a former Corcoran location. It opened its second office just a few weeks later, at 53 Main Street in East Hampton. [WSJ] – Ariel Stulberg
