Mobile marketing vendor Appboy is moving to its new 27,000 square feet space at the Gural family’s 12-story building at 318 West 39th Street in the Garment District.
The company is leaving Handler Real Estate’s 263 West 38th Street, where it signed a lease for 6,500 square feet in 2013.
Daniel Lolai of LSL Advisors represented Appboy in its seven-year lease deal. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Matthew Mandell represented the building’s owners.
Appboy will take the entire fifth and sixth floors of the Midtown building.
The Gural family, under the name Quadri-Planetary Associates, has owned the building since the early 1980s. Jeffrey Gural is the chairman of Newmark.
The family is one of the city’s largest office landlords, with about 10 million square feet across 50 properties, concentrated in Manhattan. It recently announced plans to convert two Brooklyn buildings, in Williamsburg and Long Island City, into offices. [NYP, 3rd] — James Kleimann
