In 2011, Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev paid a record $88 million for the penthouse of 15 Central Park West, supposedly for his daughter Ekaterina. Now sources say that it is back on the market.
When Rybolovlev picked up the 10-bedroom penthouse from former Citigroup Chairman Sandy Weill, it was the most expensive residential purchase in the city’s history. Since then, new supertowers like One57 have bested his record, but perhaps not for long.
A source told the Post that the apartment is back on the market, although the asking price was not revealed.
In May, it was reported that the apartment would stay off the market after the billionaire reached an agreement in divorce proceedings with his ex-wife Elena. Elena Rybolovleva had sued her ex-husband in Manhattan Supreme Court over the 10-bedroom unit at 15 Central Park West, but the two sides agreed Tuesday to stay the action as the oligarch appeals a Swiss court’s ruling that he pay a $4.5 billion divorce settlement.
