Brennan Zahler, the former manager of Town Residential’s Greenwich Village office, jumped to Warburg Realty following the closure of Town’s LaGuardia Place location.
Zahler began late last month as sales director for Warburg’s Tribeca flagship, which is slated to move from 100 Hudson Street to a larger location at 124 Hudson Street in the next few months, a spokesperson for Warburg told The Real Deal.
He had been at Town since 2014, when he was poached from the Corcoran Group to run the firm’s office at 730 Fifth Avenue. Zahler declined an offer to stay at the firm in a new role after the Greenwich Village office shuttered late last year, he said.
The closures, which also hit Town’s Meatpacking District office and were announced just two months after Zahler relocated to the Greenwich Village location, were simply a move toward greater efficiency within the company and are not symptomatic of financial troubles or a sign of layoffs ahead, Town CEO Andrew Heiberger said at the time. Agents from both offices would move to nearby offices at 110 Fifth Avenue and Astor Place, he said.
Zahler cited Warburg’s longevity as one of the reasons for his move.
“They’re tried and tested and they’ve been in business a long time,” he said. “When it appeared that being in a management role at Town was not an option, the first person that stood out in my mind was Fred Peters. It was a no-brainer.”
A spokesperson for Town did not immediately return a request for comment.
