The owners of a 100-year-old church in Spain gave artist Okuda San Miguel free rein to go all out on their interiors. And they got something pretty spectacular in return.
Today, Kaos Temple, located in the Spanish municipality of Llanera, is a destination skate park also appropriately called La Iglesia Skate. It attracts skaters from around the world — and it’s easy to see why.
The defunct and run-down church was purchased by a collective known as the Church Brigade, who transformed it into a skate park through a crowdfunding campaign, according to Design Milk.
Madrid-based street artist Okuda San Miguel first visited the church in late 2014 and created a concept for the space that would add paint to the walls and ceilings, using his signature “Kaos Star.” And that’s how Kaos Temple was born. Check out the photos below:
