We are a city divided by a park. Or at least, the Democratic Party is. Supporters of presidential candidates Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders live on opposite sides of Central Park, according to a new study.

The Upper East Side ranks among the top five neighborhoods in the country where Clinton most outperforms Sanders in fundraising. It’s also home to some of her biggest donors.

Likewise, the Upper West Side numbers among the five neighborhoods showing the highest fiscal preference for Sanders, according to a study published this week by the non-partisan political tech firm, Crowdpac, cited by DNAinfo.

And that’s not all. Clinton is preferred by Latino and black voters nationwide, yet the pro-Sanders Upper West Side has a greater percentage of black and Latino residents than the pro-Clinton Upper East Side.

And Millennials, which polls show prefer Sanders, make up a larger percentage of the population on the pro-Clinton Upper East Side than the pro-Sanders Upper West Side, according to 2009-2013 data from the American Community Survey.

Looks like we’ll have to wait for the New York primaries to see how this really plays out. [DNAinfo]Christopher Cameron
