W&L Group Construction plans to build an eight-story, 80-unit rental building at 131-09 Fowler Avenue in Flushing, according to a permit application filed with the Department of Buildings on Tuesday.
The building will have 73,981 square feet of residential space, and four retail stores spanning over 17,963 square feet, the filing shows.
The second through sixth floors of the building will each have 13 apartments, the seventh floor will have nine units and the eighth floor will have six.
The Second Floor Will Also Include A Terrace and outdoor recreation space, according to the filing.
The Flushing-based W&L, which declined to comment, bought the building in May 2014 for $10.2 million, according to property records.
The Department of Buildings recently rejected the developer’s 2014 applications for a 24-story mixed-use building at 2282 Cropsey Avenue in Gravesend.
W&L is also developing the Gene Kaufman-designed Indigo Hotel at 8-12 Maiden Lane in the Financial District.
