The long-dormant Times Square Theater has a new tenant.

Oracle Projects International – a Singapore-based entertainment and events company – has reportedly inked a least to take charge of the 1,032-seat former playhouse at 217 West 42nd Street, the New York Post reported citing sources familiar with the negotiations.

“We do have a tenant, and what they intend to do will be very cool,” Cushman & Wakefield’s Bradley Mendelson, who represents the theater’s ground leaser, New 42nd Street, told the Post.

He declined to confirm the tenant’s identity, though, the paper reported.

This is the third attempt to revive the 12,000-square-foot property in recent years. Fashion designer Marc Ecko leased the theater for five years in ending in 2009, but never actually opened anything there. In 2012, a group called “Broadway 4D” leased the property in hopes of opening a multimedia tribute to the history of Broadway there. [NYP]Ariel Stulberg
