Here is what Bjarke Ingels’ proposed redesign of 2 Penn Plaza might look like

Rendering shows a new glass facade and a wave-like canopy

Two Penn Plaza may soon get the Bjarke Ingels treatment.

New renderings for the building show a new glass facade and a skirt-like canopy over Seventh Avenue — like gusts from Penn Station underneath are revealing what will soon be reorganized lower-level retail space. The designs — revealed by New York YIMBY — are not final and are one of many on the table for the building’s revamp. The website released two slightly different design options.

When reached by The Real Deal on Wednesday, representatives for building owner Vornado Realty Corporation and BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) declined to comment on the project.

In February, Vornado announced that it planned to combine its One Penn and Two Penn Plaza office buildings to form a 4.2 million-square-foot complex. CEO Steven Roth said at the time that the company plans to “re-skin” Two Penn Plaza with windows that stretch nearly from floor to ceiling to give it that fresh new-building feel.
