Former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey and his wife Susan bought a two-bedroom co-op unit at 1049 Park Avenue on the Upper East Side for $1.9 million, according to property records filed with the city Friday.
The six-room apartment boasts two bathrooms, wood-burning fireplace, original architectural detail and high-beamed ceilings, StreetEasy shows.
The seller was Sarah K. Brigham, according to property records.
The 36-unit, 13-story landmarked building is part of the Park Avenue Historic District, according to PropertyShark. The red brick facade was often used for the exterior shots for the 1970s TV show “The Odd Couple,” according to the New York Times.
Mukasey, a New York native, served as attorney general between November 2007 and January 2009 under then-President George W. Bush. He was also the chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for six years.
