What would the Empire State Building look like silhouetted against the Burj Khalifa?

A group of architects hopes to use the super-tower’s LED capabilities to find out

For now at least, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai remains the world’s tallest building. And it is also the world’s largest LED-illuminated façade. And that gave Minus5 Architects and Studio Mr. White an idea for a rather cheeky installation.

The architects have proposed illuminating full-size silhouettes of the rest of the world’s super-tall skyscrapers on the façade of the Burj Khalifa so you can see in an instant how things really stack up, according to Curbed.

The designers have said that their plan would reassert the building’s “position as the ‘big brother’ tallest building in the world.”
