New York’s fire department renewed its 320,000-square-foot lease at Forest City Ratner’s 9 Metrotech Center in Downtown Brooklyn.
The department, which occupies the entire eight-story building, will stay for another 10 years after its current lease expires next year. No brokers were involved, the Commercial Observer reported. Forest City Ratner did not provide an asking rent.
The FDNY moved its headquarters to the building in 1996, signing a 21-year lease. Last year, the New York Police Department renewed its lease at Nearby 11 Metrotech Center – also for 10 years. [CO] – Konrad Putzier
