It’s all about the views, ‘bout the views, ‘bout the views. In a newly-launched video of its 80-story Lower East Side condominium, Extell Development is appealing to buyers who want to see the skyline and river from their middle-market apartments.
To date, Extell has been marketing the 815-unit One Manhattan Square in Asia, but the Gary Barnett-led firm is set to launch a marketing campaign targeting local buyers this fall, Curbed reported. The 850-foot tower was designed by Adamson Associates Architects, the same firm that designed the National 9/11 Memorial Museum Entry Pavilion and The Shard at London Bridge.
Prices at the 815-unit One Manhattan Square will start around $1 million. Recent renderings show 100,000 square feet of amenities, including fire pits, a putting green, a covered dog run, a 70-seat movie theater, a bowling alley, a dog spa and a cigar room.
Earlier this year, Extell dropped the total sellout price for the condo tower by $207.3 million to a total of $1.87 billion. “We’re going to be very conservative here,” Barnett told The Real Deal at the time. “We priced it where we want to start and we think we’ll raise prices from where we’re starting now.”
Extell bought the development site, a former Pathmark at 252 South Street, for $175 million in 2013. [Curbed] – E.B. Solomont
