Hotelier, developer and co-founder of Days Inn, Richard Kessler, is selling his Aspen estate for $32.5 million. Kessler bought the land 15 years ago and has worked with environmental and civil engineers to return the property to an expanse of untouched wilderness.

Located in Garfield County, the ranch is about an hour’s drive from Grand Junction, a town of 60,000 and a little bit longer than that to the Aspen and Vail ski areas, according to Bloomberg. The property has four lakes, a 100-year-old orchard and game.

“When I bought it, I thought it was going to be a personal place,” Kessler said. But “I realized I had to share it with others,” Kessler told Bloomberg.

The primary house on the estate features a dining room that can seat 40 guests, an executive board room, commercial kitchens, reception areas, a living room, bar, locked gun vault and wraparound porches.

The second house has eight bedrooms and a private owner’s apartment.

There is also a 10,000-square-foot Guest House, with five bedrooms and a ground floor “museum” with taxidermy and artifacts.

Finally the property also includes four other utility buildings, a bunkhouse in the wilderness and a small cabin.
