A community group filed a lawsuit seeking to block RAL Development Services and Oliver’s Realty Group’s Pier 6 development in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
In its complaint, the Brooklyn Heights Association alleges that the city broke its own rules by awarding the project to the two developers despite the fact that neither was registered in a database of companies doing business with the city.
The city’s Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation approved the project on June 7. The state’s Empire State Development Corporation briefly opposed the project, citing a $10,000 donation by RAL’s Robert Levine to Bill de Blasio’s nonprofit Campaign for One New York, but later changed track and backed it.
RAL and Oliver’s plan to build a 28-story building with 126 condominiums and a 14-story, mixed-use building with 40 market-rate apartments and 100 affordable units.
