Developer Bruce Ratner’s wife, plastic surgeon Pamela Lipkin, filed for divorce, according to a report.
The New York Post writes that Lipkin filed for a contested proceeding, meaning the estranged couple could face a battle over their assets. Ratner is worth an estimated $400 million, according to the Post. The couple, which started dating in 1997 and married in 2008, owns a townhouse on East 78th Street, a five-bedroom vacation home in the Hamptons and a 200-acre property in Ulster County.
The 71-year-old Ratner is the chairman of Forest City Ratner Companies, the New York office of newly-public Forest City Realty Trust.
Forest City Ratner [TRData] is currently building the Pacific Park (formerly known as Atlantic Yards) megadevelopment in Brooklyn in partnership with Chinese developer Greenland Group and the office building The Bridge in the future Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island, among other developments. Its recent projects include the Barclays Center In Brooklyn and the New York Times building at 620 Eighth Avenue.
Bruce Ratner owned a stake in the NBA team Brooklyn Nets, which plays at Barclays Center, but sold it to Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov last year.
The 64-year old Pamela Lipkin is a well-known plastic surgeon who specializes in nose jobs and regularly appears on ABC’s Good Morning America.
The split marks this year’s second high-profile divorce filing in New York’s real estate industry. Last month, developer Harry Macklowe filed for divorce from his wife of 57 years, Linda. [NYP] — Konrad Putzier
