Here’s a real estate tale for modern times: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly trying to score a New York luxury rental for free – in exchange for promoting it on Instagram.
Short-term rental site Airbnb is trying to find a luxury pad for the celebrity couple to live in this fall and is offering to pay $150,000 to landlords. “The plan would be for Kimye to live there for a few months for free, and Kim will post on social media about the apartment,” a source told the New York Post. “Airbnb would pick up the tab for the rent.”
So far, the proposal seems to be getting little love from landlords. “Not many of these sellers want to rent to Kimye, as having their names, and Airbnb, attached to such a luxury property won’t help a sale,” another source told the paper.
West reportedly owns a one-bedroom on Houston Street, but wants a bigger place for the family to stay in during New York Fashion Week and while he is on tour this fall.
The couple’s employees viewed a $29 million penthouse at 10 Sullivan Street, a $29.9-million pad at 35 North Moore Street and a $24.5 million pad at 471 Washington Street, among others, the Post reported. [NYP] — Konrad Putzier
