Compass persuaded one of Douglas Elliman’s most longstanding brokers to join its ranks.
Toni Haber, a 27-year veteran of Elliman, has jumped to the startup residential brokerage along with her four-member team, a spokesperson for Compass told The Real Deal.
“I’m truly grateful for my experience at Douglas Elliman and all of the support during the nearly three decades spent building my business there, but moving to Compass is the right step for me at this point in my career,” Haber said in a statement. She was not immediately available for further comment on the reasons for her move.
Her most notable transactions include the 2014 sales of a full-floor penthouse condominium unit at Walker Tower for $30.8 million and a penthouse at 400 Fifth Avenue for nearly $11 million to Cuban-American businessman Alex Meruelo. She was No. 46 on The Real Deal’s list of the top 75 New York City residential brokers in 2016 by listing volume.
Haber’s wife Carol Burns will join her at Compass, as well as her team members Victoria Frost and Jared Brown.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Elliman said the company wished her well.
