HAP Investments is moving ahead with plans for the second property in its two-building Chelsea residential project at 215-227 West 28th Street.
Plans filed with the city’s Department of Buildings on Saturday show the 20-story apartment building, located at 225-227 West 28th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues, will span nearly 91,000 square feet. Along with 112 apartments, it will have a rooftop terrace. The retail component will cover the lower level and ground floor, according to the permit application.
The architect is DXA Studio, the filing shows. Representatives for HAP [TRDataCustom] and DXA Studio could not be immediately reached for comment.
The first building in the $387 million project is a 21-story, 183,000-square-foot building next door at 215-219 West 28th Street. The city approved plans for that building in May.
In August, the Midtown East-based development firm, led by Eran Polack, acquired the parcel at 225-227 West 28th Street for $30 million and secured $42 million in acquisition financing.
HAP is also working on several Harlem projects and the development of a 42-story mixed-use tower in Jersey City.
