Permits filed Tuesday for the planned 51-story condominium tower at 200 Amsterdam Avenue reveal a ritzy list of amenities.
SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan’s building, slated to be the tallest building on the Upper West Side, will have one entire floor devoted to fitness and offer virtual golf, a yoga studio, a pool, a sauna and salt rooms, permit filings reveal. Another floor will be dedicated to other forms of leisure, with plans for a conservatory, rehearsal room, club room and a tween lounge, according to the documents.
At 669 feet tall, the 112-unit building between West 69th and West 70th streets will tower above its neighbors. Renderings for the building, obtained by New York YIMBY in June, show a tapered building rising more than 600 feet to a narrow crown. Elkus Manfredi is the architect of record.
SJP [TRDataCustom], led by Steven Pozycki, acquired the 5,000-square-foot Amsterdam Avenue lot in partnership with Mitsui Fudosan for $275 million in 2015, as The Real Deal first reported. The purchase was financed by a $160 million loan from the Japanese Sumitomo Mitsui Trust.
Mitsui Fudosan America, the U.S. investment arm of Japanese development firm Mitsui Fudosan, paid $259 million for a large stake in Related Companies’ 55 Hudson Yards. The firm’s other holdings in the city include 1251 Sixth Avenue at Rockefeller Center and 160 Madison Avenue.
SJP, in partnership with P2B Ventures, received approvals in April for a controversial 64-unit luxury condo at 711 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side.
