Well if this doesn’t get you in the Halloween spirit, we don’t know what will.

According to the New York Post, the SoHo loft where Heath Ledger was found dead in 2008 was completely filled with Joker paraphernalia, including Batman comic books, books about clowns, clown statues and creepiest of all, recordings of Ledger’s voice practicing his distinctive Joker voice.

“He was trying to make his role different from the roles of the other actors. He was even studying how to make his voice different from theirs,” a source told the Post.

The items were neatly arranged because he “clearly had a lot of respect for the character. All of that stuff was very tidy. He cared a lot about it.”

The apartment where Ledger died was a rental unit at 421 Broome Street in SoHo he was paying about $25,000 a month for. The building has since been turned into condos, and the unit he died in was sold in 2011 for a little more than $5 million. [NYP]
