Edward Gilligan was president of American Express from 2013 until his untimely death in May 2015. Gilligan and his wife Lisa bought the townhouse in 2010 for $18.5 million from developer Aby Rosen, who had bought it in 2005 for $8.8 million from former Hearst Magazines president D. Claeys Bahrenburg. Rosen added some rather interesting additions to the home, including a pool in the basement, which no longer seems to be there. [more]
